Until summer 2020, Tende had 2 groceries, one butcher, one bakery, 2 hardware stores and several restaurants. The largest grocery had closed in september because the owner retired, and all other stores closed after October 2, for lack of supplies.
There are still 2 open air markets per week with local produce (vegetables, cheese etc.)
After the flood, an emergency food supply was established, manned by unpaid volunteers. This can only last for a few weeks, and nobody knows how the remaining inhabitants will buy food after it stops.
